The "Redbacks" swim club, is located in the grounds of Ormiston College (enter via Sturgeon Street, Ormiston), south-east of Brisbane on Moreton Bay.
We are a friendly club, where swimmers are encouraged to better their own times each club night, so essentially they compete against themselves. This has great rewards in building self esteem and confidence in children. You don’t have to be “Thorpie” to participate, just able to swim 25m in any (or all) of the four strokes.
For more competitive swimmers, the Redbacks compete at meets throughout the year, under the guidance of Coach Craig Davidson.
Club nights are held on Friday nights. Food is available at the canteen each week so dinner for the family is taken care of. Children can compete in carnivals throughout the season if they wish. The season culminates with Trophy presentation night in April 2013 where most members receive a trophy, based on points calculated throughout the season.
New members can transfer from other clubs or register any time. Simply bring the completed membership form (with birth certificate and membership fees) to The Green Shop at the Ormiston College pool or email registrar@redbacksswimming.org.au.
We invite you to swim for fun and fitness at the "Redbacks".
